Typography

For this assignment, I took text and created a twister out of it. I skewed the letters flying out of the twister to give them a feel of depth and a different perspective. I also decided to color multiple letters inside the twister to represent my name.

Midterm

For my midterm, I cut out these people and added them to this background. I gave them all shadows to make them more realistic looking. I added the fire hydrant in the back and cloned out a date that used to be at the top of the image.

Visual Puns

Downtown Mall Picture Hunt

We recently took a trip to the Downtown Mall as a class to take photos. I picked five photos and edited them with Camera Raw. After they were edited, I strategically took things out and added some using the clone tool. I also used the color replacement tool to change the colors of some objects.

Jumping off the page

For this assignment, I took 3 dolphins out of one picture and put in another by selecting it. I used the perspective tool to alter the view of the back ground picture and creating a shadow for the dolphins by getting a new layer and adding a Gaussian blur.

Grunge

A Grunge effect gives an image an old timey, sort of dirty feel. We used the Ripple filter, Diffuse filter, softened the effect of the Diffuse filter with a slight blur, and the Splatter filter. These filters altered the pixels and gave the photo this effect. A frame was also added to further this "dirty" feel.

Rule of Thirds

The rule of thirds is basically dividing your screen into 9 individual squares. Where these lines cross is where you put your most interesting peices. For instance, if you were taking a picture of a person you would either have the person to the right or left of the screen. It is also used to guide the viewers eye through the picture.

The rule of thirds photos below I have taken myself and edited in Camera Raw.

Kaleidoscope

I made my Kaleidoscope images by flipping sections of my picture to make a mirror image of each piece and moving them so that they will fit together properly -like a kaleidoscope. I also had to make duplicate of each piece before flipping them.
